My voice, my book and my afternoon tea

Realised that I have not been blogging for so long and someone keeps texting, "What's the story?" ...Well, sometimes, so many thoughts went through my mind but my body simply lacks the energy to punch in a couple words (or maybe not just a couple of words :P) to express the train of thoughts, especially after a long and tiring day at work. Yes, I am back at work...oh my, it's already April and at times, it feels as if I have been working for almost a year. Maybe time really whizzed past without my slightest knowledge... I lost my voice again. Hmm, "again" because I lost my voice around this time last year too. Is this an annual affair with laryngitis or what? I am like a woman with a desire to talk but no voice. Maybe in a way, it teaches me to be more observant and reminds me to be that listener to others. Thank goodness this is a long weekend, a much long-waited long weekend.

Dr Chiew reminded me that the only places I could go to were those that did not require me to talk and he cited the library. Well, maybe not the library, headed to Kinokuniya instead, hoping to find some peace and quiet among books. Browsed through section after section...finally found a book which I thought I was keen to read. Wanted to enjoy some afternoon tea at Paul Bakery (seemed to have opened in Singapore with much fanfare but have yet to give it a try) but to my disappointment, there was such a long queue waiting for seats...really miss afternoon tea during weekdays. No way I was gonna queue for afternoon tea so decided to head to Marmalade Toast instead. Thank goodness, it's not that crowded, love cafes/bakeries which are hidden away from the crowd! A piece of cheesecake, a cup of peppermint tea and my book...that's how I have spent almost an hour of my Saturday afternoon...still miss afternoon tea during weekdays!
