Bubbly milk tea

I told myself that I must never be a bubble tea addict like Angeline. But I was really craving for that bubble tea at Nex since the eve of Chinese New Year. Made a trip to Nex together with XF just now especially to get it :P Cannot deny the fact that most of the time, milk tea in general has a way to kinda hype me up, a boost to my energy level too :P Well, self declaration...I am still not a bubble tea addict, maybe more of milk tea addict. I certainly can do without the bubbles :)

My cup of tea

Didi brought home some tea leaves (was it pu-er or tie guan yin?) from China and a tea set, he made tea for us after dinner. I feel that Chinese tea is not really my cup of tea. It is very good at keeping me wide awake at night especially if I were to drink it near bedtime. Hmm, it occasionally gives me slight gastric problems too. I guess I will just stick to ginger and peppermint tea :P

Back there again...

Wonder what's the thing that makes me keep going back there...is it the friendly staff or could it be the tea? Is it the quiet environment that's conducive for me to read?...Or could it be the music?...

What's for dessert?

There were quite a selection of beautiful and delightful cakes and pastries at the high tea buffet at Goodwood Park but I was really kinda too full to eat. Nevertheless, decided to take a few of those pretty little cakes and take a picture of them. Well, with the help of Rene and Edmond, hee, managed to finish those little cakes and pastries on that plate. Always glad to share calories :P ...It was really a nice and sweet little treat from Rene, Joyce, Julia and Edmond for the three October babies! Thank you! :)

Tea at Goodwood Park Hotel

Well, it was kinda a high tea buffet at Goodwood Park Hotel on a Thursday afternoon. It was almost 4pm when I met the rest, real famished by then as I did not manage to find time to get a proper lunch that day. The selection of sandwiches was good, was pretty curious about what were sandwiched in between those slices of bread. Tried the scones and they had that kinda cream (introduced by Cassy when I was in London) for scones. The scones, nice and warm, were delicious when eaten with the cream and jam! What a nice and relaxing afternoon tea time...

Tea at Aramsa

There's a comment from a friend..."You really know how to pamper yourself." Well, why shouldn't I? Why couldn't I? Why mustn't I? I do have a choice, don't I?...I had a good scrub and massage at Aramsa today, really missed being pampered and being spolit, haha :P The gingery tea was good after the massage. You know, it's good to pamper your body once in a while. Not to forget that we are also pampering our mind and soul coz all these three are connected.

Tea at Old Town White Coffee

Well, to be precise, it's teh tarik at Old Town White Coffee...We talked about work life balance today during a meeting at my workplace, was kinda curious about the definition of this. Despite the emphasis on it in the recent years, are we having different perceptions of it? Thought I just wanted to find out, got a definition from greatworksolutions.com/work-life-balance.html (Work Life Solutions Singapore) ... Work-life balance is rooted in our need to strike a healthy balance between our desires to partcipate fully in the labour market while giving the best of ourselves to our loved ones, in essence, between our job and personal responsibilities. The notion of work-life balance acknowledges the fact that all employees (inclusive of managers) have to balance between their work and personal lives, regardless whether they have family reponsibilities.

I wonder if I have achieved that...Well, you know, it's my life, my responsibility. Anyway, was just glad that I left my workplace earlier today, just in time to enjoy a cup of afternoon tea. Well, to be precise, it's teh tarik :P

Tea at MBS

It was a cup of lemon camomile but could hardly taste the lemon. Tea wasn't strong enough for my taste buds but had certainly enjoyed those moments lazing around, having tea while waiting for Evie and Benson trying their luck at the casino :P

Idling moment

I knew I must have a cup of teh si this afternoon. Collected my pair of shoes at 313 @ Somerset and decided to have a cuppa teh si at Orchard Central...away from the weekend crowd. Teh si was good, really good, just the right thickness and not too sweet. The person who made this cuppa tea must have put in much effort...or was it just me, craving much for it and not expecting much? Well, I guess I just knew at that idling moment that I was not disappointed.

Four Beauteas

Checked out Arteastiq at Mandarin Gallery with Snoop yesterday, we met up for tea. It was a pretty small and cosy place. As I looked out of the large windows, I didn't feel I was in the middle of Orchard Road. I saw trees, only trees. It rained in the afternoon, hence making it just right for a cup of hot tea. I would say it has got the ambience and music for afternoon tea. I had Mint Lemongrass tea and Snoop had Ginger spice tea. Kinda enjoyed my tea but didn't really like Snoop's coz it's got a strong cinnamon taste, I don't like cinnamon although I am a fan of ginger :P But I thought there's just something amiss in the tea that I had, it didn't give me that kinda uplifting feeling like what some great tea would, the taste and fragrance didn't really linger in my mouth for long, there wasn't really this tenderly warmth in my tummy after drinking it. The gelato that we ordered came in four different flavours, all tea-flavoured. Well, they were not so pretty to look at but nevertheless, they tasted rather refreshing. Discovered an interesting place for breakfast at Mandarin Gallery - Wild Honey. They do have an interesting breakfast menu, it's kinda really international. Well, if only it's not located in town :P

It's tea time!

I guess The Marmalade Pantry is a place that one would wanna go again and again, especially for cupcakes. Some cupcakes are so pretty to look at that one wouldn't even wanna take a bite. Hmm, I would feel that there's nothing really pretty about cupcakes at The Marmalade Pantry but I think a few of them are really yummy. Had tea with a few colleagues today. The nutella cupcakes were sold out when we went today. Ms N was kinda disappointed. We chose three to share amongst the five of us, Geisha, Granny's Apple and Elvis. Elvis was peanut butter and it was the last one! Phew! The peanut butter on top was awesome, you would really wish it was a thicker layer on top :P I had Sakura tea, wish I was drinking it under those beautiful cherry blossoms... Well, with or without cherry blossoms, the group of us were having a great time chatting and as usual, Mr F was entertaining us with all his stories :P ...I would say it's a good place to have afternoon tea during the weekdays, not so crowded and noisy I guess.

My Time

It was a nice afternoon, not too humid. It rained in the late morning, glad to hear the sound of the rain after so long. Sipping on my cup of mint tea, taking my own sweet time to savour that slice of brownie cheesecake and penning down my thoughts...

My cup of tea

Last Sunday, I remember it was a real hot afternoon but still decided to make myself a cup of hot tea, probably craving for the bitterness in it. Always love the bitter taste the tea would leave behind on my tongue. You know, interestingly and maybe ironically, the bitterness is probably the most attractive and beautiful part of drinking tea.
